REI: Wild Foraging in Winter

Join Whole Earth Nature School Co-Founder Anna Bradley and REI to learn about the basics of wild foraging. This workshop will focus on plants that are available in the winter and early springtime.
Anna Bradley is Co-Founder of Whole Earth Nature School and local clinical herbalist. In this evening talk, Anna will introduce the basics of wild plant ID & harvesting, including the ethics of wildcrafting. Anna will introduce some of her favorite wild edible & medicinal plants & discuss how she likes to use them. You might be surprised what kind of wild bounty is available, even in the winter & early spring time. PLUS: Stay after the talk for live music from Human Ottomon (although registration may be full for the talk, the music will be open to all after 8:30). This talk is hosted in partnership w/ Whole Earth Nature School, one of REI's 2019 Grant Partners. WildCraft Ciderworks will be offering up a specially-crafted cider during the event made with wild herbs gathered by Anna Bradley & Sean Kelly. Make sure to register for this free event @ rei.com/eugene ($5 suggested cash donation at the event). Funds raised will go to Whole Earth Nature School, whose mission is mentoring students in the outdoors to foster confidence, resilience, & kinship with nature. Hurry, spots fill up quickly. Seating begins @ 6:30pm so you can get your seats & ciders in time for the 7pm show.
