Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Oregon
Is hiking some of the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon on your to-do list? Join PCT guidebook author Eli Boschetto for an informative session of trail info and tips to help you plan your own PCT hike.
Group size: 115
Instructor: Eli Boschetto
You don't have to be an uber-hiker to enjoy a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail. Guidebook author and Oregon PCT expert Eli Boschetto breaks down the Oregon portion of the PCT into easily-accessible sections that can be hiked in as little as a few days, to longer portions of a week or more--all at your own pace. For those new to long-distance hiking, there will be advice for choosing the right gear, food management, trail safety and PCT hiking best practices. Highlights will include information on new permits for the Central Cascades wilderness areas, as well as new PCT resources, and updates on the condition of the PCT in Oregon since the devastating fires of 2017. If hiking a portion of the PCT is on your hiking to-do list this year, this is a must-attend program. This presentation is hosted in partnership with the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA). WildCraft Ciderworks will donate $1 from every cider sold to the PCTA.
Be sure to register for this free event, as spots fill up quickly (consider a $5 suggested donation at the door for PCTA). To register, visit REI.com/Eugene.
Seating begins at 6:30pm so you can get your seats and ciders in time for the 7:00pm presentation.
