Sunday Music Showcase: Larry Pattis

Join us for live music to continue our Sunday Music Showcase in the Ciderhouse

A free and all ages event with live music from 4pm-6pm

This week’s special guest is Larry Pattis

“Larry Pattis succeeds in merging styles of instrumental guitar not normally found together.  His love of classical music  is evident in the lyrical nature of his compositions.  Strong melodic themes are developed, explored and reprised.  But Pattis is very much rooted in the modern world of the steel-string guitar as it exists today.  His pieces are inspired by his relationships to places and friends, but also to the strong emotions we all have in common.”

Ben Shelton Organ Trio: Live Jazz

Sunday afternoon music continues through the summer, this week with a Jazz trio of organ, guitar and drums, put together by Ben Shelton.

Music from 4-6pm

Free and all ages

“Ben Shelton plays the guitar with one foot in jazz and the other foot
in the blues -- he can play funky or get cerebral without ever losing
the groove.  He's been playing for more than 20 years, with highlights
including performances with jazz musicians including Joey DeFrancesco
and David "Fathead" Newman in college, sharing the stage with St.
Louis blues legend Bennie Smith, releasing two well-received EPs as
the frontman of the Soulless Dogs Blues Band, and holding a weekly
residency with his organ trio in downtown Austin, TX. As with the
great organ groups of the ‘60s and ‘70s, Ben loves integrating new
music into the jazz tradition, with a book of arrangements spanning
everything from well-known standards to modern pop and R&B.”
