Hike Your Own PCT Hike – PCTA Fundraiser
April 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Join us, along with REI Eugene and Pacific Crest Trail Association, at WildCraft Cider Works to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Trail Systems Act and the Pacific Crest Trail. Kick back and sip a tasty cider while Eli Boschetto, author of Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Oregon, shares tips and information to help you start planning a PCT hike of your own—on your own terms. Eli will be breaking down the Oregon portion of the PCT into easily-accessible sections that can be hiked in as little as a few days, to longer portions of a week or more—all at your own pace.
If you’re new to long-distance hiking, Eli will be sharing tips for choosing the right gear, food management on trail and in camp (including resupply strategies), trail safety and PCT hiking best practices. The program will also include an update on the condition of the PCT in Oregon following the devastating fires of 2017, and what hikers should expect on trail in 2018.
Wildcraft will donate $1 per pint of cider sold during the two-hour event directly to the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA). The PCTA is the only not-for-profit organization that protects, preserves and promotes the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. To learn more about the PCTA, and to donate to support their mission.
Want to hike the Pacific Crest Trail on your own terms AND support the PCTA while sipping cider? Join PCT: Oregon guidebook author Eli Boschetto for an info-packed session of trail and planning tips.
