Forgotten Fruit

image

Hundreds of scattered and forgotten trees left to go “wild”, unfettered, are dropping acres of fruit every year. The trees that grow in our backyards & street sides, on our hiking trails & in our neighboring farmland. These apple trees were here before the roads, before subdivisions and parking lots. Before concentrates and wholesale apple juice there was cider made from these trees. Finding trees like these and purpose in the forgotten fruit of past generations is part of WildCraft’s mission. Some call it scrumping. Some call it gleaning. We call it salvage.
